The vast coldness of space is a harsh place. We are floating on a bright blue bubble all alone and with no escape. It's a precarious place to be.

Some misfortune has happened to the planet (or moon) we now view. Were there people there? Did they make it off before the catastrophe? Regardless, everything created there is now destroyed. 

When the universe tires of a star, a planet, a species, it will get rid of it. No force can stop it. Right now, humanity's fate is to succumb to the universe's will. 

Now, don't you think it's a good time to start to get along with each other so we can find a way off this rock if and when we need it? Or are we counting on our luck to keep up?
